The Bloods host Lockington-Bamawm United in round seven.
Elmore Recreation Reserve is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Land, which will be recognised before the start of play in both the football and netball clashes.
The senior football match will be played for the O’Sullivan Cup, while the A grade netballers will be battling for the Community Bank Challenge Cup.
“O’Sullivan’s Transport and the Elmore-Lockington-Rochester Community Bank branches are great supporters of our local communities,” Elmore president Andrew Holmberg said on Friday.
“It’s a great honour for our players, both football and netball, to be representing their clubs on a significant day.”
As part of the day, a competition will be held focussing on the Australian netball team’s first aboriginal representative, Marcia Ella-Duncan
The judged winner for the best fact found on Ella-Duncan will win a netball signed by her.
“We have asked our netballers to find out a fact on Marcia Ella-Duncan. This will assist in growing knowledge about the challenges indigenous players have in mainstream sport,” Holmberg said.
Meanwhile, indigenous round will also be marked at Huntly where the Hawks will wear an indigenous jumper designed by junior Flynn Campbell.
The Hawks will also celebrate two netball milestones on the day - Mel Matthews (250 games) and Anna Sier (100 games).
