“I’m really looking forward to getting in and meeting the clubs and the presidents and talking to them about what’s working well, what their challenges are and where we can support them in the future,” Cathcart said on Wednesday.
“The clubs are the key to our competition, so the relationships that are formed with them are a key to helping them develop further in what they are doing and ensuring they have really good structures, which will in turn help us from a BFNL perspective and make sure we’re functioning effectively.”
Cathcart started in the role on Monday, two days after the BFNL inter-league team copped a 77-point hiding off Ballarat in the 5 v 6 match.
“My understanding from the board is we will be reviewing inter-league as we would every year, regardless of the result... I haven’t been informed we’ll be doing anything different other than the normal review,” she said.
