I WAS so glad to see coverage of Library Week in Tuesday's Bendigo Advertiser.

I am a huge supporter of our local library.
However, something has bugged me for a while now; being Library Week, it may be an appropriate time to bring it up.
The Bendigo Library is only open for three hours over the weekend.
As someone who works full time and is also studying full time, accessing the library at the weekend is the most convenient for me.
It has become somewhat of a weekend ritual. In three hours I can combine a catch-up with my family for coffee, study, collect reservations, browse the shelves then start to be kicked out by library staff 15 minutes prior to closing at 1pm.
It has recently come to my attention that the Castlemaine branch is open until 3pm on Saturday. With the population size of Bendigo, I would have thought we would be able to at least match this.
Just once it would be nice to leave the library without being shooed out the door.
