Bendigo Lady Braves star Kerryn Harrington has been named in the extended squad.
Her Braves team-mate Stephanie Bairstow, who recently signed on with WNBL team SEQ Basketball, was picked in the side.
Former Brave Alex Bunton has also scored a spot on the team.
Spirit star Tessa Lavey was named, along with former Bendigo players Maddie Garrick and Sara Blicavs.
The trio are currently on tour in Europe with the Opals.
"We have a lot of youth, but we have to create depth in the long term for the Opals, so it is a great opportunity for our younger players to get some international experience," coach Brendan Joyce said.
The Australian team last won a gold medal at the tournament in 2007 two years ago the group won a bronze medal.
Joyce said the tournament was a chance for some of Australia's rising stars to test their skills.
The games will be played in South Korea between June 3 and 14.
