Golden Square will regain Corey Jones and possibly Hamish Morcom for its match of the round clash with Sandhurst, but star midfielder Jack Geary is doubtful after suffering a bicep injury in the BFNL’s inter-league loss to Ballarat.
Jones returns after suffering two hamstring injuries.
The former North Melbourne forward is yet to complete a full game with the Bulldogs this season.
Golden Square coach Nick Carter said full-forward Ryan Herring would play against the Dragons after overcoming a foot injury that kept him out of the inter-league game.
Reigning premier Strathfieldsaye has been hard hit by injuries this season, but there is light at the end of the tunnel for the Storm.
Key forward Matt Ferguson and on-baller Matt Smith have been cleared to play against Gisborne this week, while livewire forward Lachlan Sharp will return for his first game since round one when he suffered a serious hamstring injury.
Saturday’s game will be Sharp’s 100th senior appearance for the Storm.
“It will be exciting to have Sharpy back in the side,’’ Storm coach Darryl Wilson said.
“We’ve given him a big break to get himself right and we’ve missed him playing that crumbing forward role.”
The Storm’s other star crumbing forward, Stephen Milne, remains a fortnight away from returning to the Strathfieldsaye line-up.
Kangaroo Flat looks set to regain Tim Brooks, Trent McInnes and George Preston for its huge clash with Kyneton.
High-profile recruit Jeremy Lambden remains on the sidelines for the Roos.
The former Bendigo Gold ruckman is still being troubled by a hip injury, but coach Jason Stevens expects Lambden to play a key role in the second half of the season.
