The Faulkner papers a rich treasure trove for the National Archives

John Faulkner quit the Senate four months ago. After 40 years in the Labor Party, 29 years in Parliament, eight years Labor's Senate leader, six years a minister across seven portfolios under three prime ministers, and the last surviving minister from the Hawke and Keating governments of the 1980s and early '90s, J.P. Faulkner returned to Canberra last weekend to put out the cat.
