The Ernie Fleming-coached BSE Dragons kicked off the day by scoring a 3-1 win against Phoenix P-12 College.
Goalscorers for the Flora Hill-based BSE were Jess Smith, Ally Van Dalen and Carnie Edlin.
In game two, the Dragons’ teamwork was superb as they scored a 3-0 victory against Lowanna College.
Goalscorers were Mikayla Cossar, Carnie Edlin and Ally Van Dalen.
In the final of the pool matches, BSE came up against the powerful Keilor Downs Secondary College.
After a hard-fought first half, Bendigo South East capitalised on the wind.
A long-range shot by Ally Van Dalen’s beat the goalkeeper in the only score the match.
BSE finished the preliminary rounds on top of its pool and earned a grand final appearance against McKinnon College.
The grand final was a tough match, with the sides looking incredibly even.
BSE had the breeze in the second and captain Ally Van Dalen again slotted a much-needed goal with just a few minutes to play.
The BSE Dragons’ intermediate girls’ soccer squad then celebrated being the inaugural winners of the ME Bank Victory-sponsored cup.
