The third-placed Hawks have dominated their three previous home games at Canterbury Park.
The Luke Monaghan-coached Eaglehawk kicked off the season by beating South Bendigo by 102 points on home turf.
The Borough fans had plenty to cheer in a 73-point win against Kyneton and then a 125-point belting of Kangaroo Flat.
Monaghan and all 22 who represent Eaglehawk in the senior clash know how formidable an opponent Golden Square is.
After a slow start to the season, Golden Square’s workrate and scoring power has lifted dramatically in the past two rounds.
A 64-point win at home against Kyneton in round five was followed by a 146-point win at Maryborough last Saturday.
The Bulldogs regain gun onballer Simon Rosa and key position player Travis Baird to play the Two Blues.
The onball battles will be a highlight as Rosa, Jack Geary, Jack Daley and ruckman Matt Compston take on the likes of Brodie Collins, Ben McPhee, Brodie Filo and Tim Nicolson.
An Eaglehawk defence led by the likes of Tim Hill, Tyler Miles and Cameron Milward faces the marking and goalkicking power of Ryan Herring, Baird and Clayton Anderson.
At the other end of the ground, Eaglehawk’s Matt Gretgrix leads the race for the Ron Best Medal on 27 goals.
Gretgrix kicked 12 goals in the round four clash with Kangaroo Flat at Canterbury Park.
His duel with Dale Young is likely to keep fans enthralled, as will Sean Williams against Brayden Dorrington or Jon Coe.
Meanwhile, Eaglehawk assistant coach Damien Lock will make a one-off appearance for Campbells Creek in Sunday’s match at Harcourt.
A dual premiership player at Eaglehawk, Lock will switch from a Hawk to a Magpie for the Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League match at Harcourt’s Sims Dental Oval.
