John Quaine, one of the country's pre-eminent violin and viola experts, conducted three music workshops for students in grades two to six.
Girton Grammar School acting head Robyn MacCulloch said children who are exposed to string instruments from a young age, often developed a love of music which stayed with them for a lifetime.
"All of our year two students learn a string instrument and our junior school student shave the opportunity to perform in either our superstrings or pocostrings groups," she said.
"Having professional musicians like Mr Quaine teach the students their instruments is memorable and invaluable.
"It's really inspiring for the students to hear all about the life of a musician and for them to learn some of the finer points about playing their chosen string instruments."
