The company lost out on tenders for the jobactive and the Australian Apprenticeships Support Networks programs in Bendigo, but was successful in a number of other regions.
CVGT chief executive officer Paul Green said the result would effect eight staff members in Bendigo, six of which could be transferred to a newly-established call centre in its office.
"All will be moving to the call centre, the first we have set up as an organisation," he said.
"There might be one job lost as a result."
The federal government will introduce jobactive, previously Jobs Services Australia, on July 1 this year.
The program includes the re-introduced Work for the Dole scheme.
The Australian Apprenticeship Support Network replaces the Australian Apprenticeships Centre.
The two programs would be among CVGT's core business in the Bendigo region, but it will continue to deliver group training programs, such as the school-based Learn 2 Work program.
It will also retain the state government-run Workplace Learning Co-ordinator program.
Despite missing out on the two contracts, Mr Green said the company was committed to keeping its head offices in Bendigo.
"The board wouldn't consider moving away from Bendigo," he said.
"The result of this tender process will affect turnover, but it's quite clear we will continue to be viable.
"Our turnover will continue to be greater than $20 million per annum."
Mr Green said the level of services provided to jobseekers and apprentices in Bendigo will continue to be at the same level, regardless of the company delivering the services.
AIG and VECCI were also believed to have missed out on contracts in Bendigo.
