Business advisory and insolvency firm Hall Chadwick was appointed administrator of Reeltime Media on April 21.
Reeltime's Bendigo subsidiary Design Experts, one of five companies wholly owned by Reeltime, is also in voluntary administration.
Design Experts founder Tim and Kylie Gentle sold Design Experts to publicly listed Reeltime in May 2014.
The couple stayed on to manage the business.
Reeltime shares have been suspended from trade as administrators take over.
David Ross from Hall Chadwick said the businesses were continuing to operate.
"We are working on business as usual," he said.
Mr Ross said it was hoped Reeltime would be salvaged.
"We've had close to 90 expressions of interest in the company," he said.
"We're confident we will be able to secure recapitalisation or sale of the business."
An email sent from Design Experts to clients said the company was "deeply sad in the way these developments have unfolded".
The insolvency would "potentially affect normal project timelines", the email read.
Tim and Kylie Gentle have resigned from Design Experts but will continue to operate as Think.Digital, providing digital strategy workshops.
In a separate email, Mr Gentle said his vision to "inspire people to harness the power of the internet" was "just starting to warm up".
The company told clients it intended to be as "honest and transparent as possible about its current situation" and provide them with "as much information and direction as possible".
Design Experts telephone lines have been disconnected.
Mr Ross said the lines were cut by a previous liquidator and would be reconnected soon.
Mr Gentle has been contacted for comment.
