Fliedner will saddle up Silent Man and Racing Writer, while Hann has wet-track specialist Tennessee Lad in the final event of the day.
Silent Man will have his first start beyond 1600m when he lines up in the Neville Wilson Series Final (1700m).
The four-year-old has promised plenty, but has only won one race from 15 career starts.
Silent Man’s three runs this preparation have been encouraging and Fliedner expects him to run a bold race.
“(The step up to 1700m) should suit him,’’ Fliedner said.
“He gets back in his races so we needed to try him over more ground at some stage.”
Racing Writer couldn’t have been more impressive in breaking his maiden stats with a four-length win at Ballarat last start.
He steps up to 2000m on Thursday and Fliedner has high hopes the three-year-old will develop into a city-class stayer.
“The 2000m won’t be an issue… he gets a long way out of his ground and will be working home,’’ Fliedner said.
“He doesn’t put a lot of effort into his work, so he has some maturing to do. In time I think he’ll make a nice stayer.”
Hann will be hoping for some rain to enhance Tennessee Lad’s prospects in The Standard Handicap (1100m).
The six-year-old has four wins from five starts on heavy tracks and as an imposing career record of seven wins and two seconds from 17 starts.
