Ron has been volunteering at Bendigo Health for five years, meeting and greeting people and showing them around the hospital.

Ron started volunteer work as a way to give back to the community and has loved it ever since.

Ron’s initial plan was to help out at some local op shops. After deciding that the op shop scene was not for him, he thought ‘why not try the Bendigo hospital?’ 

After a few background checks he was ready and has not looked back.

“I love giving back to the community and helping out the people who are less fortunate” he said.

Ron loves helping out so many people, showing them were to go while they are visiting people or loved ones in the hospital, and being able to have some fun with his colleagues.

Ron believes that anyone who wants to try volunteer work should give it a go. 

“Once you start you will really enjoy it,” he said..

“I get a lot of satisfaction doing what I do."
