The event will give pipers and drummers from across the state the chance to hone their skills ahead of major events in the warmer months.
It will also see the start of a new series of winter pipe band competitions.
Scots Day Out director and Golden City Pipe Band president Chris Earl said Bendigo was recognised as the place to be when celebrating Scottish culture.
"We hope from the first Little Scots Day Out, we are able to add workshops in Scottish and highland dancing and medieval Scottish swordplay," he said.
Little Scots Day Out is on at the Bendigo District RSL Club from 10.30am to 3pm.
