Consultation drop-in sessions about the Bendigo Metro Rail project will kick off from next week, while a second round of community consultations on the bus network will occur in late May.
Minister for Public Transport and Member for Bendigo East Jacinta Allan said feedback received from the initial bus consultation period in December had been taken into account ahead of the second round of consultations, and proposed routes had been changed in response.
Ms Allan said the community's views would also be critical in designing Bendigo Metro, which aims to deliver a commuter train service for Bendigo with increased services running from Epsom, Eaglehawk and Kangaroo Flat to Bendigo.
"Community consultation on Bendigo Metro Rail will provide an opportunity for locals and those who will use the service to have their say," she said.
Ms Allan said feedback gathered would help inform the recommendations in a report to be prepared by the project's Community Consultative Taskforce and Technical Working Group, chaired by Member for Bendigo East, Maree Edwards.
Ms Edwards said she was looking forward to hearing from the community to find out what they wanted out of the project.
"Bendigo needs an improved public transport system to support our growing city and allow people living in the regions to easily access Bendigo's CBD," she said.
Community drop-in sessions for Bendigo Metro Rail will be held at Eaglehawk on April 30 April, Epsom on May 2, Kangaroo Flat on May 16 and Bendigo on May 20.
The submission period for Bendigo Metro Rail will be open until May 31.
Consultations for the bus network will commence in mid-May with a stakeholder reference group.
