Mrs Trimble, an avid footy fan who barracks for Melbourne, Carlton, Essendon and Geelong, said she could not believe she took out first prize. “I don’t think it has really sunk in,” she said.
“I sort of sat on the top for nearly the whole season and people kept asking me if it was really me on top of the list and I would laugh and say yes.”
Mrs Trimble finished on 157 tips, only one in front of her nearest rival. Thanks to Foxtel and Fox Footy she walked away with a Samsung Smart Television and BluRay player.
“I am not sure where the television will go,” she laughed.
“I have to move a few things in the lounge room it is quite a big TV.”
Mrs Trimble said she came close to winning last year and looked forward to reading the Wednesday Bendigo Advertiser every week to see how she went.
“Last year it was tradition to put my tips in every Friday, but this year my son did it online for me,” she said.
“I have a great interest in the game, I just think it is magic.”
Mrs Trimble left her final tip for the premiership, predicting last year’s premiers Geelong would win again.
