IMAGES of the majestic wedge-tailed eagle, the Brahminy Kite and the brown falcon have adorned the walls of the halls of The Capital as the Hunters of the Skies exhibition opens this week.
Six amateur photographers spent years photographing the 24 images of the raptors of central Victoria, capturing them in their natural habitat as they seek food, shelter and take flight.
The photographers set up 'hides' - camouflaged shelters to observe the birds - in spots across the region, while other images were captured through sheer perseverance, timing and a bit of good luck.
The six men come from diverse backgrounds, including a company director and a garbage collector, each bringing their own skills to the exhibition.
Sixteen of Australia's 24 raptors call the skies above Bendigo and the region home.
The exhibition also features a movie played on a loop of the birds hunting and nesting in central Victoria.
Hunters of the Skies is open from 9.15am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday, and from 10am to 1pm on Saturday until May 29.
