Diamond Creek battled hard to tighten up its defence in the second quarter and for periods of play it managed to hold out the Thunder.
The biggest issue for Diamond Creek was it couldn’t penetrate the Thunder’s disciplined defence.
By half-time the margin was 53 points.
Diamond Creek finally hit the scoreboard in the third quarter, but its three behinds were 21 points inferior to the Thunder’s 3.6.
The final quarter was an arm-wrestle, with the Thunder adding 1.1 to 0.1.
Grace Campbell was outstanding for the Thunder, kicking two goals in a best on ground performance.
Sarah Last, Leah French, Jessica Kennedy, Emma Grant and Holly Beavis were instrumental in the big win.
The Thunder, who had nine individual goalkickers, will take plenty of confidence into their next match on Sunday, May 3 against Cranbourne.
