Fiesta Food and Events run the Sidney Myer Place food court at the 2015 Bendigo Easter Festival.
Owners Ahmed and Ibo Safi formed a partnership with Bendigo Spirit through their desire to give something back to the community.
“We offered the Spirit the opportunity to run the donut stand in the food court and keep any profits that they could make,'' the owners said.
''They did very well and have raised $7144 which is now being returned to the club.
“We had a fantastic Easter in Bendigo and we are pleased to support local women’s sport. We think the Bendigo Spirit was the perfect way to say thanks to the Bendigo community.''
Bendigo Spirit chairman Greg Bickley said the club was delighted with the support.
“We are so very grateful to Ahmed and Ibo Safi and Fiesta Food and Events for supporting the Spirit in this way. Their generosity, along with great support from the City of Greater Bendigo, has given us a real boost at this critical time” Mr Bickley said.
City of Greater Bendigo major events manager Terry Karamaloudis thanked the Safi family for the generous gesture.
“It’s great to see such an important local sporting club benefit indirectly from the Bendigo Easter Festival. The Spirit need the support and it’s fantastic that Ahmed and Ibo are real fans of women’s sport and have been so generous,” he said.
