Police intercepted two men in a Toyota 4WD on the Kyneton-Trentham Road on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 just after 3.30am.
One of the members approached the driver of the vehicle, who was uncooperative and drove off.
The member returned to his sedan and as he did, he observed the Toyota perform a u-turn a short distance away and accelerate at high speed on the opposite side of the road, driving at the police car.
The two members, seated in the vehicle, suffered neck injuries, cuts and bruises and were taken to hospital.
The vehicle was last seen heading towards Trentham.
Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit Detective Acting Sergeant Brian Hansen said the motorist had committed a serious offense and would be charged with conduct endangering life.
"We have been unable to advance with our investigation and are seeking help from the public," he said.
"Given the direction of travel taken by the offending vehicle, we believe there is a local connection and the offenders could possibly be from the Kyneton area.
"Therefore we are trying to rejig people's memories with a new call for help."
Police say the vehicle, a silver 1999 Toyota Landcruiser wagon, was stolen from Seaford on January 12, 2014.
It was towing a stolen trailer which was carrying a stolen all terrain vehicle at the time police intercepted it.
These items were stolen from a business in Wiltshire Lane, Delacombe earlier that morning.
The driver was believed to be of Middle Eastern appearance, about 35 years old, 183cm, solid, clean shaven with a round face.
He was wearing a dark baseball cap with red writing.
The passenger is described to be of Middle Eastern appearance also, about 55 years old, 172cm, thin with short, grey, curly hair.
