Between 9am and mid-afternoon egg hunters of all ages will scavenge through the straw at Rosalind Park for a chocolatey reward.
Vision Australia Bendigo manager Ruth O'Connell said places in some of the youngest age group categories had sold out but tickets to the rest of the day's hunts were available on the door.
Ms O'Connell said she expected 100 adults and over 3000 children to join the search for the 85,000 eggs on hand throughout the day.
"Last year somebody lost their wedding ring and at the end of the day we went through every bit of straw trying to find it but we never did, so I'd suggest they take any special jewellery off," she said.
Ms O'Connell said the kids always "absolutely loved" the day and the pleasure on their face was palpable.
"The little ones, they go in a bit timid, but with the older ones it's just wild," she said.
"It's not an expensive event and they've got something to take home."
Ms O'Connell said all proceeds would benefit the local community.
"It all stays here in Bendigo, so all the profits we make out of the event stay here for blind and vision impaired kids," she said.
Entry is $10 for children and $20 for adults.
