THE Loddon-Campaspe's region's young tennis stars have been in superb touch across the opening three days of the McDonald's Gold junior tournament and AMT.
Because of a high tally of sets being racked up in AMT qualifying, a few of the junior finals have been held over until Tuesday or Wednesday.
Rich River’s Erik Holt-Crossman has won through to the under-18 singles final.
The tournament’s top seed, Holt-Crossman will face No.5 seed Luka Cancar in Wednesday’s final.
One of the junior titles that was decided on Monday was the under-18 singles.
Top seed Bianca Duff played the second-seeded Bethany Toner at the Bendigo Bank tennis complex.
It was Toner who triumphed, 6-2 6-3 on the Nolan Street hardcourts.
Quarter-finalists in the under-16 boys are No.1 seed Isaac Watson from Bendigo, along with Jack Clements, Zachary Beretta, Ryan O’Meara, Blake Watson, Aadyn Nicholas Sleep-Dalton, Matteo Savio and David Abfalter.
Play on Tuesday will include the under-16 boys quarter-finals.
The final round of AMT qualifying will hit off Tuesday morning.
Bendigo Tennis Association executive officer Leon Retallick said Tuesday's play would the first round of the men's main draw in the AMT event.
Two rounds of the women's main draw for the AMT will be contested.
The classic carries a prize pool of $7000 and $3000 in trophies.
Finals of the AMT Classic are on Thursday.
It's free entry for spectators to all day's play at the courts opposite Lake Weeroona.
