A PERFECT summer for the Rangas, who capped an undefeated season by beating Sedgwick in the grand final.
Showed tremendous fighting spirit in the grand final against the Rams, capturing four late wickets to win by 12 runs and claim their second flag in four years.
The Rangas’ season success was built on an even contribution, highlighted by four players taking at least 21 wickets and eight making more than 200 runs.
Mandurang also won the division two flag in what was a big season for the club.

A GUT-WRENCHING end to the season for the Rams after blowing a position of strength in the grand final against Mandurang.
Looked set to finally capture that first flag when they were 6-170 chasing 187, only to lose 4-5 and fall 12 runs short.
And so the drought continues.
Top-order batsman Matt Dwyer showed why he was such a sought-after recruit during the off-season by cracking five centuries in his tally of 768 runs, winning the EVCA Cricketer of the Year.

LAST year’s premiers bowed out in the semi-final with a loss to Sedgwick.
Were slow out of the blocks, losing two of their first three games, but gradually added to their side as the season wore on and looked to be peaking at the right time, but were no match for the Rams in the semi.
Andrew Collins blasted the EVCA’s two highest scores of the season - 211 against Axe Creek and 183 against Marong.
Luke Sullivan led an even Tigers’ bowling unit with 21 wickets.

A SEASON of vast improvement for the Cowboys, who made the finals for the first time since 2009.
Strong recruiting was the catalyst for the turnaround, such as the additions of Joel Bish and Grant Le Poidevin.
Bish belted 469 runs, including a pair of centuries, while Le Poidevin combined 367 runs with 33 wickets.
Won two games outright against Maiden Gully and Spring Gully, but still had a couple of long days in the field, twice conceding more than 430.

Ken Bell (two), Gary Singh, Dion Prange and Travis O’Connell were the four century-makers.
Won their first two games, but lost some momentum with three defeats in a row between rounds three and five and from there were unable to fight their way back into the top four.

PLAYED in the previous two grand finals, but dropped back to the pack this season to miss the finals and finish sixth.
The Emus were right in the thick of the action after five rounds when they sat second with a 4-1 record.
But they battled for the last six games, winning just one against Marong and in the last round became the only team to lose to Maiden Gully for the season.
Brad Rowe made four half-tons for the Emus, while Simon Marwood led the way with the ball with 31 scalps.

POSITIVE start to the season with three wins in their first four games, but an outright loss to Emu Creek in round five signalled the beginning of the end for the Cobras.
Only won two of their last seven games to finish seventh.
All-rounder Brad Webster provided plenty of highlights with not only a ton, but three bags of five or more wickets, while Nathan Hamblin’s 153 n.o against West Bendigo in round 11 was all class.
Won the Bash for Cash grand final.

MISSED finals for the third season in a row.
Had all sorts of problems with the bat early in the season when their highest first innings score in the opening five games was 7-146.
Showed some improvement later in the season when they posted three scores above 200 in their last five matches.
Only had two players top the 200-run mark for the season and only Dean Cosgriff (31.2) average above 25.
Jeremy Ross again battled hard with the ball to snare 24 wickets.

A NIGHTMARE season with the bat for the Crows.
Only twice in first innings did the Crows make more than 200. In every other first innings, they were bundled out for less than 150.
Those batting woes contributed to the Crows losing three games outright.
There were some highlights for the Crows, such as captain Alex Sutton winning the EVCA bowling with 34 wickets.
And Nigerian speedster Saheed Akolade proved an EVCA attraction.

A THIRD-CONSECUTIVE wooden spoon for Maiden Gully after another challenging season.
But at least the Gully avoided a winless season by upsetting Emu Creek and winning by 36 runs in the final round.
Two of Maiden Gully’s nine defeats were outright losses to United and Axe Creek, while only three times was the side able to bowl the opposition out.
Alex Gorrie ended the season with a flurry of runs, with four of his last six innings scores of 110*, 75, 55 and 46.
