Three people faced the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Thursday after the alleged shooting of a man in Oswald Street.
Adrian Roser, 27, of Castlemaine, was denied bail on firearms and car theft charges.
Scott Williamson, 27, of Bendigo, did not apply for bail and was charged with recklessly and intentionally causing serious injury.
Ebony Crump, 26, of Bendigo, was denied bail on charges of breaching her bail conditions.
The court heard a sawn-off shotgun used in the alleged shooting was found under Crump's bed in an Eaglehawk house on Wednesday.
Detective Senior Constable Megan McCallum said four men attended Crump's home on March 24 to repossess her VY Commodore after believing she had fallen behind in payments.
She said the men had towed the car back to an Eaglehawk property for storage.
Three men - including Roser and Williamson - were then alleged to steal a red Mazda, owned by one of the men who repossessed the Commodore, from his Whitfield Court home in California Gully in retaliation.
The court heard Roser was carrying the shotgun at the time but drove away in the Mazda.
An argument started between Williamson and the victim who was involved in taking the Commodore.
The victim chased Williamson, who had taken possession of the shotgun, onto Oswald Street.
The court heard Williamson shot the ground beneath the victim.
Another man at the scene reported the victim showing blood on his hands and saying he had been shot.
He was taken to Bendigo Health with a wound "consistent with a shotgun pellet".
Detective Senior Constable McCallum said a witness walking in nearby bushland captured the incident on camera.
She alleged the Mazda was dumped in bushland north of Eaglehawk.
Police attended Crump's Eaglehawk home at 12.50pm on Wednesday and found the shotgun under her bed.
Crump and Roser were arrested at the home. Williamson was later arrested by police at another location.
Roser applied for bail, which the prosecution "strenuously opposed".
Crump also applied for bail, after her father offered his residence as accommodation.
Magistrate Richard Wright did not have faith her father had control of Crump.
She will reappear in court on March 30.
Williamson appeared via videolink and did not apply for bail.
He told the court he intends to apply for bail on March 30.
