Her win in Ripon made her the only Liberal MP to pick up a new seat at last year's state election.
The success was rewarded as opposition leader Matthew Guy chose to start the Coalition's regional shadow cabinet in Maryborough - the seat's largest town.
Ms Staley said the win in Ripon could be the start of something bigger for her party.
"I think we demonstrated to the people of Ripon that we did the work to listen to them and understand their concerns - and respond to their concersn," she said.
"That's why I won this seat.
"We're united, we're very focused, excited to get back into government."
Ms Staley welcomed the cabinet members to the meeting at the Maryborough Community Hub, and spoke of the work she hoped to achieve in the town.
Central Goldfields Shire chief executive officer Mark Johnston also addressed the cabinet and provided information to each minister about the shire.
Ms Staley said she was "delighted" when Matthew Guy accepted her invitation to hold the meeting in Maryborough.
