The 11 students and one parent lopped their locks in front of the school assembly, with help from hairdressers from local salon Jools for Jim.
Other students also helped fundraise through a crazy hair day for the cost of a gold coin donation.
The school raised more than $10,000 for the Leukemia Foundation.
Girton Grammar School headmaster Matthew Maruff said the school had a long history of raising money to go towards cancer research.
"The school has supported the World's Greatest Shave event for ten years," he said.
"Eight boys and two girls in junior school pledged their commitment to supporting research into Leukemia by being sponsored to have their heads shaved (on Friday).
"The link at the school is a strong one with one of our past students, Tom Keech, currently doing his PhD on Leukemia. Tom was an outstanding science student and was always keen to get into research."
Junior school deputy head Viv Bath said she was impressed by the number of students who took part in the shave each year.
"Cancer affects everyone. We don't want students to be afraid, we want them to be aware," she said.
The Leukemia Foundation supports people with blood cancers and helps fund research.
