Labor promised $5.7 million to rebuild Epsom Primary School, $1 million to form a plan to improve Kalianna School and $6 million for works at Bendigo Senior Secondary College.

Daniel Andrews also promised $5 million for a major upgrade of Bendigo Stadium in the lead up to the election.

Epsom Primary School principal Lyn Coulter said the school community remained confident of receiving the full amount in the budget.

"We are hoping that in the May budget we will receive the funding for design and planning," she said.

"Because there was that promise, we are confident it will happen.

"The year after is hopefully when the funding for the build will be allocated.

"Until we have the actual design and planning completed, there can't be that funding allocated for the build."

Kalianna School was hopeful of a visit from Education Minister James Merlino in the coming weeks.

Labor promised to form a plan to fix the school after the community presented a petition with 4200 signatures calling for funding.

Bendigo Senior Secondary College was also promised funding to complete planned upgrades.

Principal Dale Pearce said any visit from the minister would be a gesture of interest in the community.

"We would love to see the minister here in Bendigo," he said.

"We will just have to wait and see what the government includes in its budget."

A spokesperson for James Merlino said planning has started for all schools announced as election commitments.

"The Minister looks forward to visiting Bendigo over the coming months," the spokesperson said.

"We are committed to delivering each and every one of our election commitments.

"The Minister will continue to work with the local members, Jacinta Allan and Maree Edwards, and all three schools to ensure we are best meeting the needs of the students, teachers and the broader community."

The City of Greater Bendigo is also in regular contact with state departments over the Bendigo Stadium project.

The stadium proposal includes a second arena with 3000 seats, 12 outdoor netball courts and an extra three indoor basketball courts.

City futures director Stan Liacos said an agreement between the city, the state government and Bendigo Stadium Ltd could be reached by May or June this year.

"We've had some very encouraging and supportive meetings with Jacinta Allan and Maree Edwards," he said.

"We are currently at a stage of deliberating over the contributions from those involved.

"The city is very grateful for the firm $5 million commitment.

"We expect funding over the next two or three years, and envisage a project somewhere between $15 and $17 million."
