Ms Alexander was among four students from Girton Grammar and one from Bendigo Senior Secondary College, who competed at the club's event last week.
The students answered two impromptu questions and gave a prepared speech.
Topics included sharing thoughts on the Bali Nine on death row, coping with anxiety and depression and body image.
Janae Smith of Bendigo Senior Secondary won the public speaking award.
Ms Alexander will compete in the regional final on March 14.
