UPDATE 1.42pm: A policeman has confirmed no one was injured in the crash.
Sergeant Peter Beaman said the occupants of both cars were shaken up but did not need to be taken to hospital.
He said the crash was caused by one car failing to give way to the other.
The driver who failed to give way would be given a fine, he said.
Damage to both cars is significant and Sergeant Beaman said they were both likely to be written off.
UPDATE 1.30pm: Police are directing traffic through the intersection where the crash occurred.
Traffic continues to move slowly along McIvor Road as emergency services work to clear the scene.
One of the cars involved remains parked in the middle of the intersection.
It appears no one was badly injured.
EARLIER: Two cars have collided at the intersection of McIvor Road and Kennedy Street in Kennington.
Emergency crews including police, CFA, SES and ambulance are on scene.
Traffic is blocked in the middle lane on McIvor Road and on the airport side of Kennedy Street and is moving slowly through the intersection.
