Thousands of people across the country will display red balloons out the front of their homes on February 28, as a gesture of thanks to firies.
The Bendigo Advertiser is encouraging local residents and businesses to also back the cause.
Central Victoria has seen its fair share of bushfires. Devastation caused by the Black Saturday bushfires still haunts the dreams of many of us.
CFA members, both volunteer and career, deserve to be recognised for their dedication and commitment in working tirelessly to protect our communities.
The Bendigo Advertiser is encouraging local residents and businesses to also back the cause.
Their job is challenging and unpredictable. They put their lives on the line each and every single day.
On Thursday, a red balloon will be wrapped with home deliveries of the Bendigo Advertiser.
Alternatively, balloons can be collected at any outlet or newsagency selling the paper on Thursday or Friday.
We ask that you blow up the balloon and display it out the front of your home. It's a simple gesture, but one that goes a long way. Come on Bendigo, let's back the cause.
