The money was presented to the Eaglehawk Development Group and Empowering Eaglehawk last week.
Empowering Eaglehawk chairman Michael McKern said the donation was part of $80,000 the Borough Club had provided towards the project over the past 12 months.
"It's pretty exciting when you receive money like that from the Borough Club, they're a great community partner and we're hoping they'll commit to that over the next few years to help complete the project," he said.
"Without these fantastic partners of ours we wouldn't be able to continue with this community work that we currently do."
Mr McKern said the money would help fund facilities including a football oval, netball courts, cricket nets, bowling green and community space.
"The funds are going towards the Canterbury Gardens project so that’s the whole area which is the sporting precinct and Cantebury Gardens," he said.
"It's a council project so the next stage will be the Eaglehawk Football and Netball Club rooms which part of the funds from the Borough Club are going towards."
City of Greater Bendigo active and healthy communities manager Patrick Jess said council would consider the new football/social pavilion and club rooms.
"We've been through a design process with the Football and Netball Club and now it's with council to consider as part of its capital works budget process for 2014-15," he said.
He said the council was looking to complete the current stage of the project in March after previously hoping to finish ahead of schedule in February.
"The new event space is looking nice and green and the pavilion and bowling surface are complete but we'll need the full schedule it turns out," he said.
