The BJC has invited the Birdsville Race Club committee and racegoers from the town for a special reunion meeting.
BJC operations manager Peter Bull said it's the first time the Birdsville reunion had been run at the Bendigo course.
In recent years the Lions of Marong and Maiden Gully made the annual pilgrimage north for Birdsville's popular race meeting.
"There's about 200 people from Bendigo who have gone on the trek to Birdsville in recent years," Bull said.
"We are looking forward to a great day on February 15."
Mayor Peter Cox will open the Jayco-sponsored Back to Birdsville Reunion raceday.
Off-track attractions at the Bendigo course will include the bar from Birdsville Hotel along with a banner backdrop of the real inside of the pub, plus the simulator Royal Flying Doctor Service plane.
The ‘Crack Up Sisters’ will perform two shows.
The day includes Fashions on the Field, Bendigo’s Lion Dancers and the Dragon Boat.
An eight-race card is being planned.
Feature event on February 15 will be the Colin Browell Memorial.
"This meeting is always well-supported," Bull said of support for the National Jockeys Trust.
"The link with Birdsville through the Lions Club means we are likely to have more people on-course."
First event on the Bendigo Jockey Club calendar for this year is next Saturday's running of the Marong Cup.
