And Bendigo entrepreneur Josh Pell designed them.

Mr Pell operates his own shoes design company, Nookiee, and designed the shoes after a chance meeting with frontman Iva Davies after an Icehouse show.

"It's very cool. I feel very honoured," Mr Pell said.

"I had been in touch with them before and put it to Iva and his management.

"A lot of people have said with the retro culture coming back, the 80s and 90s (designs) are very big and are what people have identified with."

The Icehouse line of shoes was released at the end of December.

Mr Pell created each of the seven designs after looking at the artwork of famous Icehouse cover artwork.

"One of the shoes, Crazy, is based on the film clip with the name embroided on the tongue and the red of the jacket on the shoe," Mr Pell said.

"There are seven shoes in the collection at the moment.

"I also designed a hand-made pair of Italian loafers for Iva and myself. There's only two pairs of those and I'm really proud of them."

The shoes have proven very popular with Mr Pell joining Icehouse on tour to sell the merchandise at shows.

"We have had unreal feedback so far. People don't know which (design) they want," Mr Pell said.

"Standing on the door (at shows) we have had some very positive comments.

"There's also been interest from all over the world. Icehouse fans from Mexico City and Calirfornia have ordered pairs."

A life-long fan of Icehouse, Mr Pell had always wanted to hang out with the band.

"I'm a massive fan, so to hang out with them has been awesome," he said.

"I saw an Icehouse show a few years back and said I'd be happy if I got to have a cup of tea with Iva.

"That happened last year in Sydney so I can't ask for much more than that."
