First session in the five-week course will be run on Friday, February 27 at the course off the Calder Highway at Big Hill.
Cost is $50 for the level one course aimed at developing the fundamental skills.
Regional development officer at Golf Victoria, Mark Bamford urged women in the central Victorian area who are looking to start a new sport to trial golf via the program.
Bamford and key members of the Belvoir Park Golf Club will run the clinics.
“The Play Golf Women’s program is the ideal way for beginners to get involved in golf," Bamford said.
"Like many other sports, starting off can feel quite daunting, but these five weeks of clinics are specifically designed to make participants feel as comfortable as possible and teach them the basics of the game in a non-competitive environment."
Golf Victoria recently partnered with the Royal Women’s Hospital to develop an understanding of the health benefits attributed to a healthy lifestyle and in particular participation in golf.
“Our intention is to get plenty more of these Play Golf Women’s Clinics up and running throughout regional Victoria over the coming months. The more of these clinics we have, the more opportunities to those who want to take up the great sport of golf,” said Bamford.
The Belvoir Park sessions are on February 27, March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 10am until 11am. Register with Janice Klemm on 0439 462 844, Di Ratcliffe on 0419 534 812 or Mark Bamford on 0428 241 213.
