A 29-YEAR-OLD man had his vehicle impounded and is expected to be charged after he was clocked driving more than 70 km/h over the speed limit on the Calder Freeway near Faraday.
Police from the Macedon Ranges Highway Patrol caught the man, from Knoxfield, travelling at 172km/h in a 100km/h zone on Saturday about 3.30pm.
The man's car will be impounded for 30 days and he is set to be charged on summons for excessive speed.
Victoria Police will continue with Operation Amity today and Monday.
The operation targets speed, drink and drug driving, distraction, fatigue and seat belt offences.
