The Capitals came from 10 points down at three quarter-time to defeat the Spirit by three, 73-70.
The loss at the Bendigo Stadium in what was Gabe Richards’ 200th WNBL game followed the Spirit’s seven-point defeat to Dandenong a week earlier.
The defeat leaves the two-time defending champion Spirit - who last lost two in a row late in the 2011-12 season - with an 11-6 record.
Sara Blicavs led the Spirit scoring with 23 points.
