That young people would think punching, kicking and kneeing each other to the head is acceptable behaviour is staggering.
The danger surrounding such actions is real, particularly given at one stage during the video they staggered toward a metal seat as they fought. What would have happened had one of the girls fallen and struck her head on this seat?
Incredibly, people can be seen filming the fight instead of breaking it up while others scream encouragement for the girls.
Some even step forward and attempt to push the two young girls together to encourage more fighting.
We can't accept these young people don't know this behaviour is wrong. So, why do it? Peer pressure? Boredom? Stupidity?
It's great Victoria Police are investigating and let's hope those involved are now well aware such behaviour has no place in our community.
It's also a lesson to Facebook who responded to a customer complaint about the video of the fight on the grounds of its violent nature with an explanation that it was within their guidelines. Are you kidding?
