A lawyer, teacher and author, Pung's autobiography, Unpolished Gem, and following memoir, Her Fathers Daughter, were both shortlisted in the Victorian and NSW Premiers' Literacy Awards in 2006 and 2011.
Bendigo Library adult programs co-ordinator Sue Mooney said lots of people would have read Pung's work.
"Alice has lectured at universities and schools around Australia and overseas, and taught writing workshops to people of all ages," she said.
"She has also appeared at writers festivals across the country including the Bendigo Writers Festival in 2013."
Ms Pung will be in Bendigo on February 2.
The writing workshop is on from 2pm to 4pm, with an authors talk to follow at 6pm.
There will be refreshments and a book signing.
Both sessions are free but places are limited.
