“I am really excited to join the Bendigo Braves and play my first season in the SEABL," Johnson said.
"I loved being in Australia and have heard Bendigo is a lovely place to live and play basketball."
Bendigo Braves head coach Ben Harvey said Johnson was a fantastic athlete and has the ability to finish around the hoop.
“It is great to have our second import position locked away," he said.
"We are really happy to have Grant join the group, he will be a fantastic addition to the team.
"Grant has shown he can play at this level and we believe he will contribute to the Braves returning to the play offs in season 2015."
