Anne, who recently moved into Bendigo, said she thought volunteering would be a great way to make new friends.
“The people that you meet are amazing,” she said.
Anne not only helps with the Bendigo Farmers Market and the Bendigo community, but also in Eaglehawk, helping look after children over the holidays and keeping them all entertained.
“I love the community atmosphere,” she said.
Although quite new to the volunteer scene, Anne said she was is in love with it and enjoyed every second.
She said she would would recommend volunterring to anyone. People wanting to give it a go should go along and find something that suited them, she said, because it was all a great experience and they would meet some amazing people.
“Bendigo has such a strong community and it is amazing to be a part of it,” she said.
