The Epsom-based athlete raced off 12.75m when he won the 2008 final of the Telstra-backed classic in 10.67 seconds.
On Saturday, Stephens will race off 13m in the last of eight heats in the $2000 sprint classic at Shepherds Flat.
First event on Saturday will be the 800m heats at 11.30am.
A big day of athletics action includes the 70m, novice 1600m, women's 100m, under-17 100m, 800m, masters 300m, novice 400m, women's 400m, under-18 100m, and 1600m.
First of the Daylesford Gift heats is at 1.21pm.
Semi-finals are from 2.22pm, with the final at 4pm.
Since it began in 2005, Run for the Willow has raised more than $23,000 for Camp Quality and other charitie in the Daylesford region.
