After earlier missing out on selection in the Victorian First XI, Kile was this month named in the state’s 13-member development team that will contest the carnival in January.
The 18-year-old from Baringhup, near Maldon, said she was excited to be given the opportunity.
“Our coach, Karen Rolton, is amazing - she is one of the best female cricketers to have played for Australia so it is really good to have her on board,” Kile said.
“We have a fairly strong team and a few of our girls have been putting in some solid performances at our sessions already, so hopefully we can get a few wins against some of the smaller states.”
Kile is a right-hand batsman and off-spin bowler who plays Premier grade women’s cricket for Prahran, having moved from Brunswick Park this summer.
She made the development training squad after representing Victoria Country in a three-day tournament against Vic Metro earlier in the year.
The final team was announced after the under-18 state titles, where Kile produced several good innings with the bat for the Central Highlands region.
The national carnival will be held in Ballarat from January 14-20.
Strathdale Maristians young gun Tayla Vlaeminck will play for Victoria’s First XI.
