A MAN who allegedly left four pipe bombs in the Bendigo central business district on Saturday night will face a committal hearing in March.

Timothy Mitchell Ridge, 24, of Maiden Gully, appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with eight offences.
Ridge has been charged with reckless endangerment of life, manufacturing explosive devices and three counts of unlawfully and maliciously causing an explosion that had the potential to end life and causing criminal damage.
Police charged Ridge after devices detonated in a letterbox on King Street, on the road in front of the Golden Vine Hotel on Myrtle Street and in a rubbish bin outside Bendigo Library on Hargreaves Street.
The bombs exploded between 9.30pm and 10pm on Saturday.
A fourth device found near Bar 238 in Chancery Lane did not detonate.
A bomb disposal unit used robots to empty an unknown powder from the device on Sunday morning.
Ridge was supported by his parents during a brief appearance in court on Tuesday morning.
Magistrate Franz Holzer determined a file date and committal hearing date.
Magistrate Holzer extended Ridge's bail with conditions, including he not attend licensed premises.
Ridge will face a committal hearing on March 18.
