Three CFA appliances remain at the scene monitoring the shed.
Damage is still being assessed. More than 700 bails of vetch burnt during the fire.
Six CFA appliances attended the fire, which was reported at 7am.
UPDATE 8.20am: More than 700 bails of vetch are on fire within the shed. The entire shed has been engulfed.
A spokesperson at the State Control Centre said brigades are doing burning around the shed to ensure the fire does not spread.
The cause of the fire is also unknown.
UPDATE 8.15am: Six CFA units are now on the scene of a hay shed fire at Prairie.
The fire is not yet under control.
Large amounts of smoke will be visible in the area.
EARLIER: Three CFA units are attending a hay shed fire on Prairie-Rochester Road, Prairie.

The CFA received the call at 7am.
The incident was reported at a property east of Bendigo-Pyramid Road.
