The 'can do' attitude of the City of Greater Bendigo's major events team continues to win over top officials from all sorts of sports.
Gymnastics Australia has decided on a new home for its national carnival.
And the winner is, Bendigo.
Chief executive of Gymnastics Australia, Mark Rendell summed it up best when he spoke about Bendigo fitting the mould in terms of logistics to host such a big event.
Even more importantly it's not a one-off as the national sporting body has decided the carnival will have at least a three-year tenure in a bustling and growing regional centre.
Gymnastics fans will be able to witness all seven gymsports at the one carnival across a 12-day extravaganza.
Talented gymnasts such as Olivia Leed, pictured, are rapt about the event being in Bendigo, as is City of Greater Bendigo mayor Peter Cox.
A national championship of this scale will draw hundreds of competitors, coaches, administrators and supporters.
