A small grass fire started in Castlemaine after a person failed to put out their cigarette butt properly.
Acting Sergeant Chad McKenzie said the person tried to put it out themselves but the CFA had to be called.
Another minor fire was accidentally lit in Elphinstone when some twigs and branches caught alight and the CFA was called.
"It really does highlight how dangerous and dry it is," Acting Sergeant McKenzie said.
