The hospital wants the community to give generously to the Christmas Hardship Voucher Appeal.
The Fisher family is among those to be supported by the appeal.
Gavin Fisher is undergoing intensive cancer treatment while he and his wife care for four children under nine who are on the autism spectrum.
As of Friday the appeal total had reached $2000 but more is needed. Vouchers will be given to families on Christmas Eve.
WIN TV and the Hindsight Club of Bendigo have partnered with St John of God Hospital in the appeal.
To donate, drop vouchers for food, toys and other items at St John of God hospital, at WIN TV on the corner of Lily and High Streets or at IGA stores in Long Gully and Kangaroo Flat.
