The stores' contribution to Bendigo's state-of-the-art theatre will support major family entertainment and music performances.
Capital venues and events manager David Lloyd said he was thrilled to have the support of local Telstra stores.
"Telstra are really keen to give back to their community," Mr Lloyd said.
"This relationship with the local Telstra shops, they're very keen to use their staff to assist us in volunteering for events.
"Those funds will go towards funding of our programs for families and young people."
Mr Lloyd said Ulumbarra Theatre had the funds to open the doors next year, but Telstra's funds would go towards developing the performing arts across the region.
The contribution is designed to give greater opportunity for shows from contemporary artists.
"Telstra have been great supporters of performing arts in Australia for many years," said Capital Venues and Events Manager David Lloyd.
"And we are thrilled to have the support of local Telstra stores in this exciting partnership."
Ulumbarra's 950-seat auditorium and production capability means Bendigo will see national and international artists and touring companies.
As part of their contribution, Bendigo's Telstra stores will have special offers for Ulumbarra patrons.
Telstra Stores Bendigo Director Nick Papaz said Ulumbarra Theatre would be fantastic for Bendigo.
"Of course our customers will receive benefits like access to premium seating at selected shows, but I think the opportunity to support this great community facility is really important to us and worthwhile supporting," Mr Papaz said.
Ulumbarra Theatre has had strong community support, with the largest individual donation of $300,000 from local resident Howard Nathan.
The former Victorian Supreme Court judge has long supported the Bendigo Art Gallery and said his gift was an extension of his passion for the arts.
