Burns notched the milestone when he trapped Eaglehawk's Shaun Knott lbw for a duck during the Roos' one-run loss to the Hawks in the Bendigo District Cricket Association at Canterbury Park.
While Knott was victim No.400 for Burns, 16 years ago in October, 1998, Golden Square opener David Bakes was wicket No.1 when he was dismissed lbw for 21.
Burns also removed Golden Square star Simon Pearce (caught Ian Alexander, 25) in his debut game to finish with figures of 2-32 off 17 overs bowling first-change in what was the start to one of the BDCA's great careers.
Burns also has a chance to reach another bowling milestone in February, needing 10 more scalps to notch 100 wickets at Melbourne Country Week.
