Since her state championship victory there's been little rest as Jocelyn continues preparations for next year's Australian Amateur Boxing Association championships.
The biggest bout of her career will be in Brisbane in late April.
Jocelyn will take a short break from workouts at the Golden Square-based Hit Factory across Christmas and New Year, but then it will be back to training six days a week.
Boxing is a pursuit Jocelyn has done "on and off" the past five years.
"I started in karate when I was nine and really enjoyed it," she said.
"Boxing was another challenge I thought I would have a go at."
Jocelyn fought in the open 54kg division at the state titles in 2010.
She joined Hit Factory about 18 months ago.
Head trainer Danniel Burton and co-trainer Garry Austin have given her plenty of advice and encouragement.
"The tips from Danny and Garry have been great, not just at training, but in competition,"Jocelyn said.
"Training for this year's state championships went a lot better.
"At times there was no match-up at tournaments, so I went in exhibition bouts, usually against more experienced or slightly heavier opponents," Jocelyn said.
A busy lead-up was capped by winning the final at Brunswick's Reggio Calabria Club.
"My opponent in the final attacked right from the start."
Some jabs and well-timed combinations soon had the contest going Jocelyn's way.
The final was four-by-two-minute rounds.
"Winning the state championship meant a lot," said Jocelyn.
"There's been a lot of work go into improving my fitness and skills."
Although she's the only female in the squad at the Golden Square-based Hit Factory, Jocelyn is not overawed.
"Training with the boys has helped improve my skills in so many ways.
"They are faster and stronger than me, so it's an advantage I have when competing against women."
Training at Hit Factory is not just on the heavy bag, speedball or sparring, but includes running, and crossfit style sessions.
A key supporter for Jocelyn is partner Danny Taggert, who was runner-up in the men's elite 64kg class at the titles.
"Danny has given me a lot of help, as have Danniel and Gary."
Jocelyn said family support played a big part in all of her sporting pursuits.
Jocelyn and another of Hit Factory's young guns, Tully Scanlon, junior open 48kg champion, are guaranteed No.1 spots in the Victorian squad to compete at the national titles.
Danny Taggert will have a box-off for the number two spot in February.
It will be Jocelyn's first national boxing championships.
Away from the boxing ring, Jocelyn Amiet has graduated from Latrobe University Bendigo.
The maths-science teacher will take up a place next year at Victory Christian College in Strathdale.
